The Journey of Fate

“Will you give me your blessing” represents Santiago being caring because he wants people to love him back for what he has done for them. In the novel ‘The Alchemist’, Santiago is a boy who just wants to follow his destiny, and on his journey to find it, he meets his real treasure, Fatima, the love of his life. Santiago also meets the Englishman who wants to learn from the alchemist. On his journey Santiago meets the alchemist who teaches him to turn into the wind to find his destiny. Santiago’s journey is all about fulfilling his dreams. His curiosity, caring outlook and courage are the traits he uses to find his destiny.

During Santiago’s journey he is curious because he always wanted to gain more knowledge. A time he shows he is curios is when he asks the alchemist to teach him something for example “can you teach me how to turn into the wind.” Another time is when he asks weather he should stay with his beloved Fatima in the oasis or continue with his destiny because he thinks that she is his treasure. The most important peace of evidence of curiosity is when he trys to realize his real destiny and future during his journey. For being curios it helps him through the toughest times and forces him to complete his destiny. It also helps him because he uses his other traits to make his journey easier.

Santiago is caring because who ever Santiago meats he gets to know them better. ‘Fatima says, “If I am really part of your dream, you’ll come back one day.” this shows that Santiago cares for her because in the end of his journey he goes back for her. Santiago is also caring because in the novel he always does what he can to help others, such as the crystal merchant when Santiago cleans the glasses for no charge just to help the merchant, ‘“I can clean up those glasses in the window, if you want,” said the boy. “The way they look now, nobody is going to want to buy them.”’ Also when he first goes to Egypt he meats a man that asks Santiago what is he doing and Santiago says I am setting out on a journey to find treasure berried under the pyramids, then the man says that he had a dream that he would find treasure under a church in Andalusia and Santiago tells him he should fallow his dream. Santiago uses this trait to make friends that help him complete his destiny because without his friends he would not be able to make it as far as what he did. Not only that caring for people helped him because if he didn’t care for people he would not go back to his true destiny Fatima.

For being caring it proves his courageousness during his journey. That is to tell or show someone you care for them you have to be courageous. Not only that but he also has to follow his destiny because if you complete your destiny it shows that he has been courageous and faced his fears on his journey. An example for Santiago’s courageousness is when he goes to the tribal elder and tells them about the hawks circulating in the air then they attack each other, this told Santiago that the other tribe was going to come and attack, that’s why he decided to tell the elder’s about what he had seen. ‘“one of the hawks made a flashing dive through the sky, attacking the other.”’ This helps him through is journey because he has to be brave and face his fear. He also uses courageousness in helping others like the tribal elders.

By being curious, courageous, and loving Santiago worked his way through the wall he has to climb to fulfill his destiny. His traits make him work to find his treasure and love that he finds after leaving his home in Spain. It is important for Santiago to complete his destiny otherwise he would be sad and lonely. And since he completed his destiny he can feel cheerful, loved and four filled.

Zest For life

My zest for live is what allows me to enjoy the participation in my destiny. i show all of this all the time when I'm out to play in the class or anywhere always looking for fun, and trying to find was more enjoyable. An example of my zest is when is was playing basketball and the teams where uneven i would just turn the game into a fun game and just shoot and run around, and even the teams out. That is my way of living through my destiny and making it as fun a possible.
